ARTA launches the Philippine Good Regulatory Principles Manual

The Anti-Red Tape Authority (ARTA) set another milestone as it virtually launches via zoom the Philippine Good Regulatory Principles (PGRP) Manual on 01 July 2021 as a commitment to implement regulations based on the right principles of regulatory management.

Accordingly, these principles are composed of ten guidelines that support the conduct of a Regulatory Impact Assessment (RIA) and strengthen the country’s ease of doing business. All government agencies must implement, as covered by Section 3 of RA 11032.

ARTA, together with the UK Foreign Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO), and the UK Department of Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS), collaboratively curated these guidelines through a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signed on 04 February 2020.

The EDC commends ARTA in all its efforts towards streamlining government procedures to ensure that regulations would not cause an undue burden to the public.

The ARTA requested all government agencies to upload the PGRP on their website and post it conspicuously in their office. The PGRP e-booklet can be accessed at https://arta.gov.ph/philippine-good-regulatory-principles/.MRJ
