Creation of Single Operating System for all gov’t transactions in the works

The Presidential Communications Office (PCO) confirmed that PBBM has allowed the creation of a single operating system for all government transactions to improve bureaucratic efficiency in the country and also as part of the ease of doing business program of the country in the sectoral meeting convened last 11 April 2023.

The Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) and Anti-Red Tape Authority (ARTA) are now plotting the processes of various government agencies and collate them into a single system. The President directed the two agencies to assist Local Government Units (LGUs) in adopting the Business Permits and Licensing Systems (BPLS) system as they are also covered by the ease of doing business law.

They have also realized that the best way to reduce requirements and processing times is for government agencies to adopt data sharing so that one document submitted to one agency will no longer be required by another agency.

The government through the Ease of Doing Business (EODB) program, is carrying out TradeNet, Manual for the Reengineering of Business Permits and Licensing Systems in All Cities and Municipalities (BPLS Manual) and Streamlined Guidelines for the Issuance of Permits, Licenses, and Certificates for the Construction of Shared Passive Telecommunications Tower Infrastructure (PTTIs) to ensure the administration’s efforts in streamlining and improving the efficiency of government services.

With the creation of the single operating system for all government transactions, the export community envisions smooth and hassle-free operations that will spark motivation not just to exporters, but also to the businessmen who want to explore exporting. PLM
