Exporters joining International trade fairs, selling missions, or business conferences abroad are encouraged to use the online application system for the Travel Tax Exemption Certificate (TTEC) offered by the Tourism Infrastructure and Enterprise Zone Authority (TIEZA).
To avoid processing delays, applicants may upload a signed endorsement form from authorized agencies (e.g., CITEM, DTI-EMB, BITR, PHILEXPORT) when applying online. The travel tax exemption application approved for endorsement by the Export Development Council (EDC) is also required for verification.
Key Reminders:
- The online process is an added convenience; manual filing at TIEZA offices remains available.
- TIEZA processes applications within three (3) working days. Business hours are from Monday to Thursday 8:00am to 6:00pm.
- Status updates are sent via email.
- Approved certificates (TTEC) can be printed at their home or office.
Who is exempted?
Exporters participating in international trade promotion activities (e.g., fairs, exhibitions, conferences) under Executive Order 589, are exempt from paying the travel tax:
- Php 1,620 (economy class)
- Php 2,700 (business class)
