PBBM embraces public-private collaboration to develop PH as key player in e-vehicle industry

PBBM welcomed the public-private sector collaboration to develop the e-vehicle industry in the country during the Private Sector Advisory Council (PSAC) Job Sector Groups (JSG) Meeting on 17 August 2023.

With this collaboration, this could help the PH exporters as they can potentially export locally manufactured electric vehicles and EV components to other countries. As global demand for electric vehicles grows, there may be opportunities for Philippine manufacturers to tap into international markets.

ARTA gears up Green Lanes for Strategic Investments under EO 18

The Anti-Red Tape Authority (ARTA) gears up to implement Green Lanes for Strategic Investments under Executive Order (EO) 18, series of 2023. Said EO defines those that are aligned with the Philippine Development Plan or any equivalent national development plan and can be characterized by significant capital or investment in the country as a strategic investment.

ARISE PH launch Guidebook on Exporting to EU

ARISE Plus Philippines launched the business guidebook aimed to help improve the Philippines’ access to the European Union (EU) market and utilize the EU Generalized Systems of Preferences (EU -GSP+) scheme.

The guidebook provides technical and regulatory requirements to be completed within the Philippines to export to the EU, and measures to meet to cross the EU border.

Marcos Jr. to drive PH’s meaningful economic transformation, including boosting infrastructure development, creating high-quality jobs, and pursuing its initiatives to become an investment-friendly nation. This means increasing the capacity and capability to make profitable investments, such as the Build-Better-More program.

The BOC Collection Districts, also known as Ports are supervised by a District Collector assisted by Deputy District Collectors as many as necessary, a District Collector also has jurisdiction over Sub-ports.

Launching PEDP 2023-2028: Philippines as Agile Export Powerhouse

President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. approved the new Philippine Export Development Plan (PEDP) 2023-2028, presenting the Philippines as an agile export powerhouse; designed to accelerate the development and growth of exports in key industries. The plan was presented by the Trade and Industry Secretary Alfredo Pascual at the press briefing organized by the Presidential Communications Office on 06 June 2023.

PEDP and PDP aligned to achieve the PH sustainable development goals

Both the PEDP 2023-2028 and PDP were aligned to achieve the PH sustainable development goals, with the former focused on export development as the lynchpin of the economy. 

The two plans working together will serve as the platform for attaining the Sustainable Development Goals in 2030 and the Philippines’ AmBisyon Natin towards a prosperous, inclusive and resilient society by 2040,

BOC and DICT to foster an integrated information and communication technology system

The Bureau of Customs and Department of Information and Communications Technology strengthened their partnership through a Memorandum Of Understanding (MOU) in promoting integration, interoperability, and interconnection of their systems and applications, signed on 15 June 2023. 

Under the MOU, DICT will assess BOC’s applications and systems; recommend strategies for improving the bureau’s ICT system, develop additional applications if necessary, and ensure smooth integration. While BOC will be the partner of DICT in providing guidance and support for interoperability.
